Update # 3

I went to the council meeting the other night. I dressed up and even wore socks. When they got to the part of the meeting where they were going to discuss and act on the nominations they decided to call a special meeting to interview the candidates. Normally this would be no big deal. However the night they called it on I can be there. Savannah is getting an award that night. So I will be watching my nana bear be honored.

I went by and talked to the city manager about this. He said it would be no problem. They have a resume and info sheet on me and that the council can look at that when they are deciding. He understood why I could not be there. I still need to call the man that nominated me and let him know.

So, they will meet Tuesday night and talk it over. Guess we will see what happens.

The Bike

Liz and I got our government check last week. We did our part and purchased bikes for each other. I went for a ride last night on my new 18 speed mountain bike. Sort of silly really, there are no mountains and I cant figure out the gears.

Liz was probably smarter and got an old fashioned bike with no gears at all. I did enjoy the ride. But i have got to get a bigger seat. You see I have what some might call....a big ole but. I mean it is a good looking but. Yet it is on the large size. The idea of having to dig my drawers out of my crack when I get off the bike can be a bit annoying. Not trying to give anyone an image you don't need, but yikes. Plus my legs feel like jello this morning.

I wonder if I could get something from the saddle and tack store?

Update on New Opportunity

Well, there is a bit of change. I found out last night that there are a total of 4 candidates for the city council position. I will have to get up and speak to the council and tell them why I want to be on the council and they will vote. I have no idea who else has been nominated. I am working on a speech to give.

I am thinking of maybe giving Patton's speech (the one George C. Scott gave) or maybe the one from Scent of a Woman (the one Al Pacino gave).

Or maybe I should sing my resume to them?
