Fun in the woods

Sam and I went on a cub scout camp out. We fished, bird watched, hiked, cooked out, and had a great time together. We stayed in our new tent. It has been a long time since I did that. My back reminded me that it has been a long time.

All was good until the flood started at 7 am. I slept through the entire group that was with us packing up and bugging out. Some of them set up tents in low areas and got wet. I was supposed to preach a chapel service, but that did not happen.

Do something fun with your kid. Get out in to the woods and let them experience what life really is like.

Book Mooch

My friend Mike has turned me on to Book Mooch. I have signed up and have cleaned out a lot of old books and junk books that have crowded my shelves. This is really a cool idea. I have gotten rid of 13 books so far and have 6 on there way to me. LOVE IT!!!

Not Ready For This

I just got back from a parent meeting for kids going into Jr. High. It seems like only a few days ago Savannah was this little kiddo with curly hair and a pooched out tummy. Not anymore. She is turning 12 and will be in the 7th grade this fall. I want her to still be a little kiddo.

Growing older is not fun. Well in some ways it is, but I am fine with me getting older, but part of me wants my children to still be little.

sigh.....
