In Sunday school I am teaching through the book of Habbakukk. Why does bad stuff happen? Apparently there is more to our world than what we can see. Our short sited view of things can look very rough. But the less on of this prophet of God is that it is part of a master plan. God is not blind, deaf or ignorant to what is going on. He could be raising up the answer somewhere else. God told the prophet, look and be amazed becasue you will not believe what I am about to do.
In My life, in my short neart sighted view of things...I have to remember that God is orchestrating the solution somewhere. I need to do what the prophet did.....get in my tower and wait and see what the Lord will do. I need to also come to the same conclusion that he did...that what ever God does, He will be just in doing so.
Lord, I trust you in my life. May the rocks cry out that you are holy.

Mind Control
I am currently reading a book on mind control. It is actually a history of its use by the CIA. Our government has been involved in some pretty sick and twisted stuff. The things that our tax dollars have been allowed to fund and do are not always positive.
This is actually a hard thing for me to read about and study. I am what you call a flag waving patriot. I love my country. I am a salute the flag kind of guy. But this stuff is pretty awful. One hopes that it does not go on anymore. People being used as guinea pigs with out their consent.
Our government has stockpiled and produced weapons of mass destruction. You know it seems sort of two faced for us to complain about other countries having and using this stuff. We have. When Harry Truman was a soldier in the army, he was involved in mustard gas attacks in World War 1.
I guess one argument would be that at least we have some check's and balances in our system and that you hope some dooms day scenario does not happen.
I want to believe the best in people. I also know that people will let you down. They can do the most awful things and you sit back and wonder why.
In all of this I still have faith in God. I am glad that my faith is not based on humans. Humans have this in grained problem called sin.
God, please control my mind and let me not do anything that would shame you.

Tuesday Was A Good Day
I left the house early. Drove through the driving hail and rain towards the metro-plex. I went to Ft. Worth and visited a girl in the hospital who had just had a baby. I then went to the Kimball Art Musem and toured the exhibition of early christian art. They had artifacts from the 3rd, 4rth and 5th centry. It was really amazing. The display is going to be there for another month or so. It is only 7 dollars to get into see it. They give you a audio device to use to explain some of the exhibits.
I then went over to the state office of our denomination for a meeting for the State Chaplain's association. After the meeting I went to the tabernacle where they were having the Winter Prayer Meeting on Pentecostal Worship.
The head honcho of our denomination was preaching (Bishop G. Dennis McGuire). WOW, this man can preach it. To use an old expression, he really "shelled down the corn"..."he shucked it right on down to the cob." He really preached a powerful, spirit filled message. He preached from Hebrews 12:9-15. He was preaching on "get a new grip and hold on." His message was really wonderful. He called the young ministers forward and had the older ministers come up and lay hands on us and pray for us. The young ministers were then directed to turn around and lay hands on an older minister and pray for them.
God really touched me during this time. I sang, prayed, spoke in toungues, sang in the spirt and was very much refreshed. I had no voice left by the time it was done. I put on a Jason Upton CD and just had a wonderful time driving home.
It was a long day but a good day. New Birth, History, New Ministry and Old School Pentecostal Preaching. It does not get any better than this.
